KEVIN J. GOLDEN
Kevin grew up in Jackson, Michigan, where he attended Jackson Lumen Christi High School. He received a scholarship to play basketball at DePaul University. Besides playing basketball for DePaul, Kevin earned his bachelor of arts in communications from DePaul in 1988. He then went on to attend DePaul University – College of Law and received his JD in 1992. He has been practicing law in Chicago since 1992 and was recently sworn in to practice law in the state of Michigan.
Kevin began his legal career in 1992 as a Cook County State’s Attorney in Chicago, Illinois. After working in the juvenile abuse and neglect, narcotics, gang crimes and felony trial divisions, Kevin left the office in 2000 to work for a prominent personal injury firm in Chicago, Illinois. He immediately began trying medical malpractice cases and his results set him apart from his peers. In 2001, Kevin was recognized by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin as one of the “40 Attorneys Under 40” to watch in Illinois. In 2004, DePaul University College of Law recognized Kevin as the School of Law’s outstanding young alumnus.
In April of 2007, Kevin joined Dudley and Lake, LLC and continued to obtain multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. In September of 2009, Kevin and Matt Dudley obtained a $25 million medical malpractice verdict in Cook County. In 2011, Kevin recovered $8 million on behalf of a 20-year-old man who suffered a brain injury while receiving chemotherapy at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. In 2016, Kevin obtained a $3.85 million settlement on behalf of a 26-year-old woman who suffered a vitamin deficiency after undergoing bariatric surgery.
Kevin’s practice is diverse. In addition to litigating high-stakes medical malpractice cases, Kevin also achieves successful outcomes in automobile cases, recovering multi-million dollar settlements and awards on behalf of his clients. In May of 2021, Kevin obtained a $5.3 million dollar settlement on behalf of two motorcycle riders who were severely injured. Kevin also takes advantage of his unique combination of criminal and civil trial experience to seek justice, including monetary compensation, for victims of sexual abuse. He fights tirelessly for these victims. He recently recovered $1.6 million for young girls who were sexually assaulted by fellow male students. He has also obtained significant settlements on behalf of men and women who were sexually abused by church employees.
Kevin and his wife reside in Three Rivers. He is licensed to practice law in the states of Michigan and Illinois.
