1983 CIVIL RIGHTS
If you have been deprived of your civil rights you may have a claim under title 42, Section 1983 of the United States Code (42 U.S.C. 1983), often referred to simply a section 1983. Our office can help you if you have or someone you know has been the victim of police abuse, excessive force, false arrest, or imprisonment. Also, in many states the prison healthcare system had been privatized, however, Section 1983 still applies when a prisoner is denied medical care or mental health care while incarcerated. Kevin J. Golden has experience in cases involving excessive force against the police and he has prosecuted numerous cases on behalf of prisoners who were denied medical care and mental health treatment while incarcerated.
